Font size changing... what is going on here???

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I'm working on my new invoice layout and something strange is driving me mad!

I have a number of labels on the screen formatted to size 9, font Verdana. When I click in the label to make a change, then exit the label, the font size changes to 8!! Every time! I've been changing it back by selecting the object and changing the font size back to 9.

I suppose I can live with this, but oh boy what a pain... anybody know what's going on?

Hi Jason,

Sounds like a corrupted font. I would replace it and see if this doesn't fix the problem.

A couple of other things you might do (or include):

Check and see if there is a different description of the font in layout compared to browse.

Check and ensure that you only have one copy of Verdana on the Harddisk.

I have seen a second copy of a font override the systems.

The text in the fields may already have a format that is different from the default formatting of the field.

The fastest way to clear the formating and return to the default is to perform a replace on the field, specify a calculation and replace the field with itself.

no no, these aren't fields... just labels (text objects on the layout).

Hmmm... I'd follow Lee's advice. I'd also make sure your copy of FMP is patched up to date. Maybe ditto for the OS.
