were do i begin (no not at the beginning)

i have a repair database im building

the important files in this problem are a a repair file, a partslist file & a stock list file

i have a form with the repair product details & a portal for the parts list.

in the partslist is the following fields (lineno, partno, qty, description, unit price)

i am going to populate the stock list with parts held in stock (the fields will be identical (thats important i,e what is above) as in parts list)

i want to use a popup list on the partno. field on the parts list to select (portal) a part from the stock list (which is fine & works) but then i want it to populate the description & unit price automatically pulling the relevant information from the corasponding files from the stock list) & store this info in the parts list fields relating to the relevent repair file (which i think i have got sussed out through the relationship)

set the field to be a 'lookup' from that related file
