Newbies natedaskate Posted March 27, 2003 Newbies Share Posted March 27, 2003 I am a new user to FileMaker Pro 5. I am using a PC. My supervisor wants to be able to place controls on certain fields. Just wondering if anyone could assist me. Thanks!
Lee Smith
Hi Nate, Welcome to the list. There are various ways to limit or denied access to fields. Look at the password controls available under Menu Files (also the manual, and online Help). Check Field Format in layout mode (Highlight the a file and then go to Menu - Format - Field Format - and you will see that you can lock out entry) Also, if you upgrade to FM6 there is new feature called record-level security (FM5 does not have this feature). However, there are other workarounds to help control access, so additional information as to what you want to control might help. Lee
Fitch
If by "controls" you mean popup menus, checkboxes, etc., those optons are also under Field Format.
