dtrusty Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 Hi, I downloaded the trial version, and installed it. I am using the Linux version. When I start fmserverd, I get the message "This version has expired. Please use a current version." There was no fms_resgistration command with the trial package. When I try to open the server from a client, it doesn't seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance! David
Leb i Sol Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 It looks like you have downloaded an older version of FM and/or you have installed earlier. I think that the demo is good only for a 30 days from the initial install.(change your system time if you know it was not installed eralier) Do you have any network drives mapped?(Win related) ...does it have to be a Penguin platform? If I am not mistaken it was Mac--Win--Linux development path for FM...the unspoken rule: Latest Versions XYZ of Any software always ~@#$%$^%@#()*#! ============================================== -Look into downloading the newst version pack/patch -Make sure your system is running ok -Send an email/call FileMaker people and ask about the simmilar issues - Look under FAQ in Filemaker.com ...you can not register trial versions ========================================================= ...(and to what the truth behind this probably is....) I have not seen a "Re_move_tri_al solution" for Linux TRIAL versions...Windows is outhere for V 5.5
