Personally what I would do is to assign them an AccountID as soon as they enter your system, regardless of what they enter as (supplier, prospect, customer, etc) and they then keep this AccountID for all transactions in the system. At that point it will not matter how they progress around, all thier transactions will be linked to that same AccountID.
