kenneth2k1
This is probably something simple, but I cant fix it. On my Mac (OS9.2 FM5.5), the value list items seem to be positioned high in their spot on the list. It cuts off the top part of the letters. Not really a big deal, but I would like to fix it. I have tried to adjust the Line Spacing in the paragraph section of Text Format, but it doesnt seem to affect it. I might post a screenshot of it later if I get back to my Mac today. Thanks, Ken
Ugo DI LUCA
Hi Ken, Font problem I think. I turned to Verdana just for this one
kenneth2k1
Hi Ugo. Absolutely right. The font was Helvetica, and I changed it to Verdana, and it is ok. I'll give you a star for that one. Ken
Vaughan
The problem is font smoothing in Mac OS 9. Turn it off and the menus look OK again. A known issue.
Ugo DI LUCA
I'm using Mac OS 8.6 though Vaughan.... Thanks Ken.
Vaughan
Was font smoothing in MacOS 8.6 as well?
Ugo DI LUCA
Yes. It does for me.
BobWeaver
You may want to check that you have the latest version (4.6.2) of the ATM extension installed. You can download it for free at: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html
Ugo DI LUCA
Thanks Bob. I had version 4.0.
Ugo DI LUCA
Bob, no change after installing 4.6.2 Verdana is still my best catch. But I must say it's a pretty font for my solution, except I cannot deal with the Euro symbol ....
BobWeaver
Interesting. I have font smoothing turned on, and no problems with Helvetica on either of two different computers (OS9.2.2 and 8.6). It seems to me that I have seen it happen on rare occasions, but I don't know why it wouldn't be consistent. Well... it is Filemaker.
kenneth2k1
I changed the font back to Helvetica and turned Font Smoothing off. Keeping the font helvetica was easier to deal with then changing everything to another font. I guess i'll have to write this into my instruction manual for my users, too.
