Using Win98, FMP5.0, Microline 320. My Client has been using a Dos DB program. print to this printer using the resident printer font. This prints at high speed (fast). I looked for a solution, only thing I found was to use a Generic text only Print driver, this worked except for one very unexceptabl thing. It prints one label form feeds to next page, prints one label. etc. Tried using Custom page size at 1x3, no luck. :? Please help. Thanks

I have a theory which I'll get to in a minute. But first, check the simple things.

Is it possible that you have the layout set up to print only one record per page? Check the part options in the layout and see if any of the page break options have been selected. If it still doesn't work then it's back to my theory...

It could have something to do with the stacking order of the objects on your layout. When Filemaker prints a page, it images the objects on the page by stacking order. Stacking order is the thing that is affected when you select an object and choose "Bring to Front" or "Send to Back". Filemaker images things in order from back to front. This works fine with a graphics based print driver where the entire page is imaged before any of it is printed. I suspect that with the text only driver, if you attempt to print something at the bottom of the page and then try to print something that is higher up the page, the print driver will eject the page rather than try to roll the paper backwards. What I recommend is that you go into your layout and select every object starting at the bottom-right-most and working to the left and upwards. Send each object to the back as you go. When you get to the top left, your objects should all be arranged correctly so that they will print in the proper order from top left to bottom right. Better yet, I would try to combine all items into one text object as merge fields. This would ensure that everything prints in the right order. Good luck.

There is a driver available at OkiData.com called "Microline 320/321 for Windows 95/98"

Maybe that will help?

Thanks for the suggestions, but still no dice. The layout part checked out (no page break options selected). I reset the stacking order, no workee. Then removed all fields but one (name) still page breaked. Made a new field with (name & paragraph mark & address & paragraph mark & City st, Zip & PM & PM) placed on layout, selected no pg breaks on printer dialog, didn
