Create a symbol button??

Hi everybody,

I would like to make symbol buttons like open, new, find, back buttons... in Winwords or in Filemaker. I don't know how to create these symbols in buttons. Could you show me how to do these buttons? I attach a button I want to do like this, for example.

You have to download the files and open them on your computer.

You do that by clicking on the Icon that matches your System (mac or windows)

I clicked on the Windows icon to download the files but no file exists there. It always said "The page cannot be displayed". I tried to click on it again but it didn't work Can you show me how to make the symbol button in Filemaker? I only know how to make a button without symbol or picture on it.

Which file are you trying to download?

Is the Icon a text symbol, or something else?

I tried to download 1000 Buttons, Buttons and Things, Graphics Library, Graphics Collection by clicking on Windows symbol (Icon) near Mac symbol but they didn't work.: Maybe those files didn't exist there.

I just downloaded the 1000 Buttons file, it is the first file listed using the windows icon, and it worked fine.

BTW, if would be very unlikely that the files weren't there, they have been there since FM 3 was released. More likely that there is either a problem with your ISP, or your browser setup.

Oh, so you can download the 1000 Buttons file. Yes, it's the first file listed. I tried to dowload it again now but it didn't work. Maybe there is a problem with my ISP or my browser setup but I can download files on other websites. Can you send that file to my email [email protected] ? I need to read it to know how it works.

Contact www.fmfiles.com and point out your problem to them. There is a contact button at the bottom of each screen.

This is a 2.5 MB file, so I'd not sure that your ISP will let it come through, as I know mine has a 1 mg limit.

I can get a big file (about 9 MB) here because my school uses cable to connect the internet and they give me about 20 MB for my mailbox. But I also send a email to that website with hope they can solve my problem and I can get their files. I still wonder the way to make a button with the icon on it. Is it I insert an icon on the layout then I will make a button and send the button back so that the icon can be on the button like they did on Menu? Can you explain it to me?

Hi Snow,

You're confusing me. Why should it work for us and not for you ? The samples linked by Lee are there.

Just make sure you just clicked once on the Window symbol from their site. Storing the link on your desktop is useless.

When downloaded, your compression tool would create a new folder.

These samples are FM3 though. It happens sometime that the files downloaded in the folder could appear as plain text files. Instead of clicking into the icon, just open the files from File Maker, with "All Format" enabled.

Thanks, Ugo. I don't know why I cannot download it at all although I do it exactly like Lee and you said. It always says "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings." I tried again to download it this morning but it didn't work. Are there other websites to download those tips about how to make icon buttons?

Thank to Lee and Ugo, I tried to find out how to do icon buttons. I found another website which shows us how to do icon buttons and we can download these buttons as Lee helped me to go there to download (I couldn't download buttons from that website but I can download them on this site. I don't know why ) Here is the address:
