System: NT Server/XP Clients/Filemaker 5... When launching a file while off the server, access privileges are fine... When operating ON the Server, full access privileges are not available-- even with the full access password.

Has anyone experienced this?

Is there a solution or am I doing something wrong?

I do not understand your description.

fm 31, ask your server admin to give the user FileMaker runs on more privileges ...

I have experienced the same issue. My user account has full access to the files and when I use the full access password to login to a hosted db I can NOT modify any fields, I can NOT access the password administration, I can NOT view, modify, nor delete value list. All I can do is browse records. When I try to modify a field, the DB alerts me that the field is not modifyable. Anyone have any other ideas?

Also note that when working locally on the db I have no problems with the above mentioned items.

Are you sitting at the host machine's console, with the files open in FMP whilst they are also hosted by FMS? If so, that's your problem. The file *are* already in use by FMS.

You need to close the files in FMS before opening them in FMP. That means disconnecting all users and taking the files off-line for the duration.
