Newbies Ted G. Posted April 30, 2003 Newbies Posted April 30, 2003 I am making 5 separate invitations per page, and I want to print one name per invitation. Thus, I will have 5 different names per page. Since I have a list of 100 names, it will take me 20 sheets of paper. I can?t MailMerge, because it only cycles to another name at each new sheet of paper. There must be a way to print my list, maybe with some kind of calculated field or value list. How do other do it? I?m stumped. Thanks. Ted
LiveOak Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 The layout features of FM allow you to define how many "labels"are printed on a page. This feature can be used to place 5 records per page. Layout Mode --> Layout Menu --> New Layout/Report..., select "labels" as the layout type. -bd
danjacoby Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 I highly recommend modifying the margin settings on the layout, however, since the ones FMP provides are usually junk. I always get rid of the header (& footer), and set fixed margins that, along with adjusting the height of the body part, give me the exact mix I want. An additional benefit of this method is that, provided your margins are large enough, it will work equally well for any type of printer, which means that when you change printers (and you probably will at some point), the database will continue to function properly.
