Portal Calculation Problem

Featured Replies

Hello,

Here is what I have. Serial # db and Purchasing db. Layout in purchasing has a portal that shows me units in stock, units in process, Units out on loan. The info in the portal changes depending on what I select in the pop up global field. Ex: Select "in Process" I see units in process, select "In Stock" I see units in stock. That all works fine. I want to see a count of each different unit in the portal. Ex: MSMP is the beginning of one of our units serial numbers. I have a calc field in the main file which adds a 1 if MSMP is at the beginning of the serial #(I'm using this field to get the sum of MSMP in the Purchasing db). Now if I choose "In Process in the global I see all the units in process and it gives me the total, BUT if I choose "In Stock" the number does not change. Not sure why this is but I'm loosing hair quickly. frown.gif What am I missing? How do I make this calculate based on what is visible in the portal? Where do I buy some hair growth stuff? tongue.gif

Make sure the calc field is unstored.

Danjacoby,

Thanks so much. Why does it always have to be something so simple? Works now so it's all good!

Thanks Again, Michael

That's why I get the big bucks.

I'm also available for weddings, bar mitzvahs...
