Multiple files into a single window/frame

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have 40+ FM files open during use. Getting to the desktop is a big problem as the user will need to minimize all windows before reaching the desktop icons. Is it possible to run all FM files in a single window/frame so the user will only need to minimize one frame? As the database is gettig new files regularly it is impossible to handle this with scripts.

It's running on FM6 and Macs.

Any help is appreciated...

Hide Filemaker.

They're all gone in one fell swoop.

In OSX, it's simple -- command-H. For OS9, you have to go to the icon in the upper right-hand corner to hide an app.

In OS9 - Click the desktop while holding down the option (alt) button - does the same as hiding application via upper right-hand corner menu.

You need to use scripts to close the exiting file and open the new one. The user will see just 1 window.

Hi,

Multiple windows are required at certain points, this means I can's close all but one file as they will be opened automatically when data is chaged in the related fields. Thanks for the suggestions though...

Hi,

RE: ALT-H

Thanks for the tip. is there any way to do this from within FM itself (make a button)?

Jim

You can always create script in all databases which will minimize all other databases.
