I'm using FMPro 5.5 in the Mac OSX (V10.2.6) environment and would like to be able to test my website and databases without being connected to a network. My databases are located in the Web folder of the FileMaker folder as are the web pages. The instructions for testing which are presented in the Help menu are those applicable to OS 9.x (e.g. they refer to "control panels," etc.) but don't translate well to OSX. Has anyone had success with this? If so, it would be wonderful to know what your Network Preferences are and how you were able to change the Web Companion TCP/IP port number from 80 to something else.

you can set web companion's port in Preferences->Apllication-Pluguns_>WebCompanion

To access, simply use "localhost:yourport#" or ip address "127.0.0.1:yourport#".

Thank you, Christian. Since I posted the question, I found that your solution is exactly the right one. I set Web Companion to a port number of 591, then point my browser to "http://127.0.0.1:591/" and it works perfectly. I appreciate the suggestion.
