Newbies Toonce98 Posted June 18, 2003 Newbies Posted June 18, 2003 I am a Filemaker newbie and find the "tab-style" interface (like the one used in the Aqua Template) both attractive and functional. I can't find any references on how to do this. Is FM6 required or can this be done in an prior version? Is there a how-to posted anywhere else in the forums or on this site? Any help will be appreciated!
Vaughan Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Tab interfaces are easier than they seem. Create the required layouts that *look* similar. Each tab has a script that switches to the next layout. That's all. As long as the layouts look similar, the illusion of a unified interface is created. Tabs can be done in FMP 2.1, maybe even earlier. (The earliest version I am familiar with is 2.1.)
Leb i Sol Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 u can use effects on the 'tabs'- buttons where u can set the button/tabs Effects- Embossed <-> Engraved when looking at that sheet or tab much like rollovers in html/javascript All the best!
SteveB Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Go to the Sample Files section and search for Aqua Template by Kennedy. You'll have tab buttons already made and a starter system. Steve
Newbies Toonce98 Posted June 21, 2003 Author Newbies Posted June 21, 2003 Thanks for your replies! I did study the examples and see that it's really about using Layouts in a creative way.
