Jarvis Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 I would like to use a radio button with a value list. When I do this, the fields and their corresponding buttons align themselves horizontally across the layout. If the value list is long, or the values in the list are character intensive, these radio button choices require that you scroll to the right to see them all. Is there any way to have more control over how they appear in your layout? Is it possible to arrange them in groups a number eight domino? Thanks!
Jarvis Posted June 24, 2003 Author Posted June 24, 2003 Sorry about the repeat question. I was just dreaming that I had'nt asked that question yet. Jarvis
LaRetta Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Hi Jarvis! You can resize the field boundaries by dragging a corner (the handles) down and to the left (making it narrower) while in layout mode. It can become two columns or three columns or whatever. If you want to split them up for some reason and the re-size doesn't give you exactly what you want, you can create a Value List for each entry in your value list, containing only that one value. Place the same field (your radio button field) where ever you want one and then assign that new value list (through field format) individually. In this way, you can place radio buttons and checkboxes anywhere! Jarvis, you can delete your extra post. Go to Edit and you'll be given an option to delete it. LaRetta
Jarvis Posted June 25, 2003 Author Posted June 25, 2003 LaRetta, I just figured out how this edit post thing works. Thanks for the tip! With everybody's forbearance, I think I will leave it here. This is because I discovered (and I hope I can do it again) some link page that kept a record of all my posts and everybody's response to them. If I can figure out how to find that page again I will have a system for remembering things I am sure I will forget. By the by, thanks also for the tip on resizing the field boundaries. I am confident I would have discovered it on my own in about a thousand years, but I don't like to wait that long!
