June 27, 200322 yr For anyone looking to change there icon get InnoSetup Icon Replacer 0.3. This program works awesome. It took me 2 seconds to change the icon. Works everytime. I have tested it on 10 different run times and have had no problems. Best thing is IT'S FREE unlike everything else in Filemaker. But i wont go there. Enjoy! June 28, 200322 yr hi, digitaldreamer ! is this for window ? does it work for regular fmp file ? ( what i mean is that see when you open the fmp file there is a fmp icon left top conner ). also let's say i have a nice icon image, how or where should i save the icon to use it from this icon replacer ? regards, kyle
June 28, 200322 yr Author Sorry i should have clarified. This is actually for changing the icon after you have finshed making your solution a runtime. This is a Windows based program. Im not sure on how to change the one in the top left corner yet. Im still trying to find that fix yet You can have the icon anywhere on your hard drive. If you need any more info let me know. 1. Run Developer Tool on your solution. 2. Launch InnoSetup Icon Replacer 0.3 3. Select for Runtime exe file. Choose your icon you want to use and hit change icon. 4. Your Done! I do not own a Mac so im not sure if it works on Mac OS. Maybe someone could try it let everyone know.
June 28, 200322 yr If this the icon that you then see at the Desktop level, then it's no different than pasting an Icon in the "Get Info" Box, although it sounds like that it automates it by doing more than one file at a time. Lee
June 28, 200322 yr Do you know whether all the icons get replaced? Win XP requires 4 different icon resolutions, so replacing one is no good. I've used ArtIcons in the past to do this...it displays and lets you change all of them. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to change the icons on the individual files of a kiosk solution, only the EXE Steve
June 28, 200322 yr Author From the testing i have done so far it changes all of them. I tried this on one my solutions and have tried it on Win98, WIn2k, Windows XP Pro and it seems to be working ok so far. I have not had the chance to try it on Win95. I would suggest anybody using this to test it first, but again i have had no issues yet.
June 28, 200322 yr It's just as much a question of what monitor resolution a user is running...even with older Win platforms, the op system tries to pick an icon that matches the right color setting and density to the resolution. Steve
