i am trying to create predetermined reports so a user can click on an icon a lauch the pre determined report. i am using the find layout with the symbols, but when i close out fp and open again it does not keep the find a performed. any help is appreciated

thanks for the help in advance

Other than a script that'll loop through all requests, copy all fields then create a record in Browse Mode (in another file) and paste those requestss into it, I don't know of any way to keep find requests once a file is closed, unless you want your users going into the script maker to save them there.

Why are you closing your file after entering your criteria/running the report?

Jeff

For each pre-determined report, create a script with the step Perform Find [Restore]. When creating the script, this step remembers the last find that you did. So the sequence you should follow is perform the find, then create the script. Attach the script to an appropriately labeled button on your layout.
