Log Statistics?

Featured Replies

I have a client running web companion that would like to do statistics reporting. Currently they are running Filemaker 4, which has very weird non-standard log files. Does anyone know of a program that can read these - preferably in realtime? If not, does anyone know if Filemaker 6 has NCSA compatible log files?

Note, this site gets TONS of activity: like 30,000 hits a day to so, and 2,000 or so visits.

I just looked into Sawmill and am running their demo for just that purpose.

They can read the FMP log files very well.

Hope this helps.

Wow! FMP4 doing 2000 visits/day? Good for your client! We couldn't keep 4 stable. Here's an "edited for public" version of an entry from our web logs (FMP-u 5.5)...

127.0.0.0 - - [13/Feb/2003:23:33:20 -0800] "GET /directoryname/images/photo.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 85163

This line did not have the FMP url code in it (which can make the log a little long and messy with cdml requests) but will show you the web log format. I just browsed jims link and think sawmill looks pretty good (thanx, jims!). Their list of supported logs officially includes FileMaker, too. I just wish I had a budget > 0. --ST

If I remember Funnel Web can parse log from Fmp 4
