I saw a lot of fancy layout, but when I want to design my

own layout, why can I just see some very simple components

available on the right side, I even can't find the "check"

and "radio" button there, I am now using Filemaker Pro 5.5.

Do I need another version, or Just set some options?

Go to the Sample Files forum and download some of the templates from there... start with those layouts and re-assemble them into what you want. Most people should not be building such from scratch... only if you have some peculiar needs.

Select the field on the layout you wnat to format, and then right click (don't know about a Mac), choose Field Format. Click the 2nd radio button and look at the value list.
