Maybe Im just missing something, but here's my problem. I have 2 files. Dont ask questions on why Im doing this, there is a method to my madness. LOL. But I copied all the fields and labels and such from one layout on say FILE 1. Copied them to a new layout on FILE 2. Now with them all selected, I want to make them sit in the same place, so I look at the object size window on file 1 and set them the same on file 2. Now, they are NOT sitting in the same place.

Here is why, on FILE 1 the VERY left hand edge on the layout starts at "5". On FILE 2, the VERY left hand edge on the layout is "18". PLease someone help to explain this and how to fix it.

Thanks again !

The best way to do what you want is to make a black rectangle in the upper left corner of the layout you want to copy. I usually make it black, so I can easily find it and not forget to remove it. On Windows (don't know about Mac), do a CRTL A to select all fields, copy and then paste on to the new layout. Make sure the rectangle is dead against the upper left corner.

Hi fireemt1,

Sounds to me like at least one of your layouts has print margins specified. While in layout mode, choose "Layout Setup" from the layout menu. Is the checkbox "Fixed page margins" checked? If yes, make sure the margins are set the same for the 2 layouts.

cheers,

Wendy
