I have several databases being hosted on FM Server 5.5. I want to run a Crystal report against a database that is being hosted.

I created a FMP ODBC data source. In the configuration of the data source, it allows you to use a remote connection. You then specify either the server name or IP address. I get this all set up and then go into Crystal and try to see the databases using the ODBC data source I just creatd. It gives me an ODBC error.

Should I be able to do an ODBC call to a FMP database hosted on a FM Server or do I have to have the database open on a client and access the database locally on the client? It seems like to me that I should be able to access the databases on the FM Server but maybe I am wrong.

Anybody have any experience with this? I would appreciate any input you may have.

John

The only ODBC connection is to FM client.

Ok, that's what I needed to know.

Thanks!
