I am trying to web enable our databases, but I have come across a large problem.

The databases have been in existence for about 5 years and as such are large and sometimes a little awkward. I have created new layouts that display just those fields that I am referencing from the web, yet some of the fields [color:"purple"] [color:"black"] will not render their results to the web.

I can create another field with a slightly different name, but the exact same properties and place it in my CDML and it works fine, yet the original field will not, its location on the web page just remains blank.

Is there anyway to fix this or am I going to have to create many duplicate fields?

One field is a calculation, indexed and is simply appending one text field to another. Another is a calculation, unstored.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. frown.gif

Thanks

Because you have had the DB for such a long time and upgraded it from as least FM 3 or 4. You might want to rebuild those fields. (its a pain on a big solution) This helped me once. You can try a filemaker rebuild. (caution)

Hi, snoop! Well, before you go to any drastic measures, I'd recommend double-checking field names for special characters or spaces (maybe URL encoding is messing up the reference, e.g. space character=%20). See if the no-show fields have anything in common. Renaming the fields might cause your layouts to need adjusting, but at least you don't have to mess with the calc forumulas. We've upgraded a db from FMP 2.1 to 4.0 to 5.5 although I cannot recall whether we rebuilt it or not. We DID have field name problems, though.
