Text fields

I making an outline with text fields where users can fill in the text fields.

Their are many text fields in this outline. If I only allow a certain amount of space for writing in each field, is it possible for filemaker to show more space or less space if not a lot is written. That way their is not a huge gap between fields. Is this possible? Scott

In Browse mode you'll have to make do with formatting the fields with scroll bars. In Preview or Print, you can make the fields slide up and reduce the size of the part.

Their is no other way? Like in Word when you type, whatever is below pushes down.

Nope. That's the difference between a word processing program and a database program.
