Ocean West Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 I have a PB G4 running OSX the client has Windows Server. Running FMP Server. I need to get a copy of the files from the server to my computer. But they don't have a CD burner. the files are over 200mb. How do I setup a share point on the server to give me access so I can copy the files? Thanks...
ernst Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 No doubt you will get precise info from one of the Windows geeks on the forum, but you could also just turn on Windows Filesharing on the PB. Then you can make the connection the other way round.
Anatoli Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Sharing on windows is almost like on Macs : IMHO only Win server, not Win client can serve Macs.
ernst Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Follow up Today we got a customer in our shop who happened to have a laptop running Windows XP. We had to exchange some files, so we: - adjusted IP settings so we were both on the same network - turned on Windows Filesharing on the Mac - turned on "Allow User to Log-in from Windows" in System Preferences -> Accounts on the Mac - on the PC laptop we entered the IP adres of the Mac in the 'Windows Explorer' adres field -at the following prompt logged in with username + password from the Mac user account Regards, Ernst
