Newbies jennyphur79 Posted August 8, 2003 Newbies Posted August 8, 2003 Help! Here is my issue. I have a field designated as a container in layout mode. I want this to contain a thumbnail of the first page of the quark doc for that particular record/job. I can't figure out how to set this up because this layout can and often does contain more than 1 record. My question is how do I specify that field to show the image for each record, not the same image for each record. Is there some way I can click on that field in browse mode to allow me to link it to the quark doc. Please Help!!
Lee Smith Posted August 8, 2003 Posted August 8, 2003 Hi If I understand your problem, it sounds like you have a global container. Change it to be just a container field HTH Lee
Newbies jennyphur79 Posted August 8, 2003 Author Newbies Posted August 8, 2003 I have the field format selected to be a container, global wasn't selected. Any more suggestions?

danjacoby Posted August 8, 2003 Posted August 8, 2003 Either you have a global field (which would be chosen in Define Fields rather than Field Format), or you imported the same picture into different records -- or possibly did a global replace, or when you say "this layout can and often does contain more than 1 record" that's not exactly what you mean. Personally, the latter option is what first triggered my alarm. Layouts don't contain records; files (also called "tables") contain records. They also have layouts in them. A layout contains fields, buttons, graphics, etc., and is merely a method of showing some (or all) of the data in a record in a certain way. My second bet is that you did a global "Replace", after which the same picture would be in the container field in all of the records (or at least those in the current found set at the time of the Replace operation).
