August 26, 200322 yr can someone please help. i have large text files that i just moved over to Filemaker 5.5. these files had contained lists, so i re-created them using TABS. however, everything looks fine and dandy on the screen but when printed, text is jumbled. what should i consider my path in order to format these documents correctly? any help would be much appreciated. cheers!
August 26, 200322 yr Do not double and triple post your questions. Pick an area and post it. This is just *ONE* list broken down into several areas of topics, therefore, pick an area that seems to match the question and post it. It isn't life or death, or brain surgery, nor will it mean that your question will not be answered (if there is an answer), if you happen to post it an area that doesn't relate to the question. Now, since this has something to do with printing, I'll respond to it here. I'll assume that you are looking at your layout in browse mode, does it change to what it looks like when printed when viewing in Preview Mode? Lee
August 26, 200322 yr ...nor will it mean that your question will not be answered... It may, however, annoy us and encourage us to leave you hanging longer than necessary, to be curt or rude, and be overall less likely to give a ******* about your problems. In a way, multiple-posting is like spam email. The more you send, the less likely I am to ever respond, at least in a positive manner. Cheers!
August 28, 200322 yr Author sorry guys, i was just so desperate. my apologies. no, my layout in Preview mode DOES NOT look like my print. seems as though, the only way to get an accurate view of what my print will look like, i have to zoom in to 150%. any thoughts?
August 28, 200322 yr On Windows this is common. It can be relieved a bit by fixing your page margins, but if it involves text combined with graphics or even ASCII type graphics, it's not going to represent your final output. Trial and error for the print is usually necessary. Creation of a second layout to preview as desired may also be necessary.
