I have one database almost completely done that contains information on students progress and students addresses and I want to create another database that has every record for the entire school housed in it...Im not sure if this makes sense so let me explain...

I want to be able to have one database that each teacher can use to enter data about their classes...Then I want another database that will gather all the information from every teacher and house it in this database...Is this possible and if so how?

Do it as new database with data about their classes related to Teacher

That is the new related database.

It is certainly possible: what you describe is a simple relational database system. For us to be more helpful, you need to be a bit more specific, however.

I'm guessing that the system you're building is for grades, test scores, etc. If that's the case, the way you build the relational databases depends on what you want to get out of the system. It can seem a bit daunting at first, but once you break it down it isn't all that difficult to do. It all depends on how detailed your data is going to be, i.e., will you be entering each quiz score for each student & having FileMaker produce final grades for you, or will you do that by hand & only keep track of the students' current and/or final grades?

I am very familiar with relational databases using access but I am not all too familiar with filemaker which is why I posed this question. If it is done the same way as any other relational database then it isn't a problem at all. I was just making sure I didn't need to do anything fancy to link the 2 together. The program is more than just grades. Its a timeline of their progress so it is a little more complicated but I think worked out most of the kinks. So if I just house all the data using filemaker server then I can run reports that show a certain kid in a teachers class' progress compared to that of the school as a whole??? Thanks everyone.
