Dan-A Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 Hi All, Here we go... 2 PCs (1 Win98; 1 XP) on a peer to peer network. XP machine is the host for fm file (FM pro 5.5). Using network printer: Brother HL-1270N Problem: If i set-up my printing script (Print restore, no dialog) with these options: lower tray & portrait on the XP machine they do not work properly on the win 98 machine. On the other hand if i change the settings on the win 98 machine to proper ones then that messes-up the settings that were ok on the XP machine!! But in order to print both machines use the same printing script! (or do they? in a network, does FM open a copy of the host file or just a link to the file on the host machine?) Any ideas?? How can i have each machine have their own print setup? Or better yet, instead of having FM "remember" the settings is there a way to "tell" FM everytime that way i know exactly what & how things will print. thanks --Dan
Anatoli Posted September 13, 2003 Posted September 13, 2003 You can try to save Print Setup to two scripts from each machine separately. Then call the scripts separately. You can use Status (CurrentSystemVersion) to branch the execution of starting script.
