Newbies NormaFay Posted September 20, 2003 Newbies Share Posted September 20, 2003 I have a PC with Windows 98, second addition and I just put in Norton Anti Virus 2003. Today I went open Filemaker and it does not open. I've had this problem before. I shut down, turn on the computer and try again (3 times). NO luck. This has happened alot. The last time I used this file was 9/14/03. In the past, I would give up and not try for another 24 hours, and then it would open. I need this file. Can anyone help??? LiveOak Posted September 21, 2003 Share Posted September 21, 2003 It's not exactly clear what you are doing. Have you tried launching FileMaker 6? Does it launch? Have you tried launching FM 6 and then using the File...Open dialog to open the file? LaRetta Posted September 21, 2003 Share Posted September 21, 2003 Hi Norma, Norton Anti-Virus shouldn't be interferring with FM. I would try one more thing before I reinstall ... Go to your FileMaker folder (directory), find FileMaker Pro.exe and double-click to execute from there. If it works, are you clicking on the db to open it or using a shortcut? If you're using a shortcut, try deleting it and creating a new one by right-clicking on your db and creating a new shortcut. Your shortcut may be funky - it happens.
