October 1, 200322 yr LVA: Have FM Server start automatically on startup, just as you would in OS 9. The following is from Mac Help, and can be found under "Help" in the Finder: You can have applications and documents open automatically when you start Mac OS X. Open System Preferences and click Login Items. Click Add then select an application or document. Drag items in the list to change the order in which they open. You can also add Mac OS 9 applications and items in the Recent Servers folder in your home Library folder. To stop an application from opening at startup, select it and click Remove. To prevent applications from opening when you log in, hold down the Shift key immediately after you click the Login button. HTH -Stanley
October 1, 200322 yr There is a certain danger in doing this with OS X and FM Server. If your system crashes and you restart (or it automatically restarts after a power outage) you might be restarting with corrupted files. You might want to replace the files with your latest backup -- after a crash and before restarting FileMaker Server. [see http://www.filemaker.com/ti/108428.html and the numerous threads in the FM Server and OS X forum.]
