importing cd info from the internet

Anyone know of a way to import cd info off the web into an FM db?

Cheers, Kundan

Could you be more specific? Do you mean the kind of info that RealPlayer or MediaPlayer pulls down? I think I recall that this is xml, so FM would be a good way to get this.

Hello 'Kundan',

Are you referring to 'CDDB' info that will download CD data to applications like Apple's iTunes?

If that is what your looking for... go to this site link...

<<< http://www.gracenote.com >>>

This site has info on CDDB and the Internet. You will probably have to purchase their solutions developer kit (SDK) to create a system to query their data across the Internet. I'm not sure if the SDK will allow FileMaker to make those kind of data 'calls'.

Hope this helps... Good Luck! Let us know what you find.

Bringing up an old thread here, instead of starting a new one...

I have a client who wants to do the same thing. He have a barcode scanner, so he thought if he scans the CD label, Filemaker could connect to Gracenote and download the CD info.

Is this possible?
