Yiannis Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 I have read a white paper from filemaker downloads site in the address : http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fmp_vs_browser.pdf So I can not understand it completely and my question is: Can I working a FM database between 2 remote PC's with an internet connection without a browser? And what I need for this to happen? Also I wnat to know if can it be with up to 2 PC's? Is that working fine without a browser? Thanks in advanced...
Garry Claridge Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 You can use Filemaker to connect remotely to another copy of Filemaker. You can have one FM acting as the server and five other FMs accessing the databases. For more than five FMs you will need FM Server. You will need to have Sharing enabled for each database. You will also need to know the IP address of the computer hosting the databases. Port 5003 will also need to be open. Good Luck. Garry
Yiannis Posted December 21, 2003 Author Posted December 21, 2003 Thanks Garry Is this working properly and much better than a browser as the white paper from filemaker said ?
