Hi all

I have a flat db that track our steel material. I am trying to do a exact find on two fields. The fields are called Grade and Description. I can do it manual and it will work perfectly but a script finds everything.

Example:I am looking for description "1"plate" Grade "2HGR50".

The script is like this

Enter find mode

insert calculated result["unquie2",""="&"description&" "&Grade"

perform find

This returns

1"plate 2HGR50

1 1/4"plate 2HGR50

1 1/2"plate 2HGR50

but manual is returns

1"plate 2HGR50

I'm even surprised that your manual find returned what you said...

A manual find on the description field should end with all 3 results too IMO.

May be you should switch your find process to a new calculated field that removes the quote with something else, say "-".

ex NewField = Substitute(descriptionAndGrade, "
