As long as your relationship is set to allow creation of related records, then the portal will have a blank row at the end which will let you add records. You can also do so via a script.

I'd like to know if there's any way to get the blank entry row to appear at the top of the portal. Sometimes it's a pain to scroll through 20 or so related records just to add a new one.

I'm not sure if this is possible, though. FMP7's Help file clearly states that, to add a related record through a portal, I must "type data into the field in the last row of the portal."
