John13 Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 From the menu, I click Layout/Set Layout Order, I can see many layouts like A,B,C,D etc. On my screen, I see only layout A. How do I switch to the other layouts to look at what fields is used on the layouts?
Lee Smith Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 The only way to see what fields are on each layout is to use the "Overview" in "File" - "Access Privileges" - "Overview". Actually, there are other ways, but I think this is what you are wanting. Let us know if you are wanting something different. HTH Lee
jscooper Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 OK, time for a blatent plug: FMDesign will give you a list of local fields on each layout (or layouts where each field resides). http://www.compudude.com/fmdesign.html Yes, there are other utilities out there that do this sort of thing (design reports and the like), but mine's cheap .. free if you don't mind guilt-inducing shareware messages. jonesy17 Posted February 24, 2004 Posted February 24, 2004 Why not cycle through the other layouts from the Status area when in Layout mode?
John13 Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 Thanks, Lee for coming in. I just learnt another trick from you.
John13 Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 Good point. The status area was hidden and so I didn't know how to get to the other layouts. When I display the Status area again, I can get to all the layout in the database and look at the field being used. Thanks for the tip.
