WEBSITE-UPDATING W/FM

Featured Replies

Here's one for ya"!

Could I use FM to update common "feilds" on my website?

Here's the idea:

Build a layout consisting of the variable feilds I frequently update.

Design a script to generate an updated HTML file & then upload to my site.

The question:

Would it be possible to write a "copy/paste-trick" that could write a new HTML by copying the basic framework I've written for my site, while bouncing in & out of the "new-info" layout-feilds, picking up & placing them in the new HTML?

-hope that makes sense to someone out there,...

thanks in advance!

my new website

You can use a Script to generate pages. Then you could use Applescript to upload the generated page.

Good Luck.

In one of my first db's I was posed with a similar task; making an htm file from values in a field. It was only for 4 fields, and I think I exported an .htm table, and then used the send message dos command copy to concatonate some prefabricated text files along with the exported .htm file which put together the page to be published.
