Transparent Images Work!

I found Something Exciting! Transparent Images Now Work in FM7! Yippe

Version: v7.x

Platform: Windows XP

Yes, but they've always worked if you knew how. There are a few more options on the Mac, but ClarisWorks for Windows permits you to paste in image into it's paint program, lasso the contents, minus the white background and paste it into FileMaker without the background. FileMaker 2/3/4/5/6 converted all it's grpahics into PICTs, and ClarisWorks is the only program I know of for Windows that handle PICTs correctly (PhotoShop does not).

If FMP 7 you have to Save as PNG or GIF to get transparency....

Thanks,

Joe

On the Mac in OS X using Photoshop 7 and FM6 or FM7, you can copy an unflattened layer from Photoshop and paste it directly into FileMaker and get instant transparency (any pixels not set in the layer are transparent).

Unfortunately, for FM6 the graphic appears as if flattened (white background for unset pixels) when then viewed on a PC. I don't have FM7 for the PC yet...

This is possible because Photoshop copies multiple formats to the clipboard. Anyone know which format FileMaker uses when an unflattened layer is on the clipboard?
