iwp formatting question

i've published an iwp database and the returned results are displayed in "table view", which i can change to form view by clicking on the link, however when i choose table view to return to the table it seems to revert to some other design.

how can i control the table view given to me by my search? ultimately i would like to customise the table view with the categories similar to the client - is this possible??
