April 22, 200421 yr Newbies Does anybody know how I can bring up the LAYOUT DROP-DOWN MENU with a keyboard shortcut? It a pain in the butt having to reach for the mouse simply to invoke this menu. FileMaker Version: 6 Platform: Mac OS 9
April 22, 200421 yr Use the Tab key to tab into the field. (Assuming the field is included in the layout's tab order of course.) I just noticed you're in Mac OS 9... tabbing into a menu might not open it, it may require a mouse click.
April 22, 200421 yr I believe he's referring to the Layout menu on the Status Area, which, as far as I'm aware, cannot be accessed without a mouse click.
April 23, 200421 yr Hmmm, I thought popup also. I don't know Macs but if you want a shortcut key to pop a popup (and don't mean the Status Bar), just create a script. A simple Go To Field [YourPopupField] should do the job. Just be sure it is one of the first 9 (err, thanks Anatoli) 10 entries in Scripts and then evoke the proper [Ctrl]-#. And, as far as I'm aware, it would work on menu or list; and would also work on all (most??) FM versions on any OS.
