FM Server and Global Fields

Featured Replies

Under what cirmstances, if any, will the data in a global field be saved when exiting a database hosted by a server? I need to have a global container field populated with an object of a certain color.

You must be in Single User mode, which basically means that you either need to open the files in a copy of Filemaker Pro or you need to get into Define Fields on a hosted file.

It is my experience that the 'open define fields' trick does not work for container fields. I am fairly certain that you will have to take the files down and make the change with Pro in single user mode. If it were a field of another data type, it would work.
