Hello everyone!

I've created a fairly fine-grained system of user access accounts for a FM7 database, and it seems to work well. However, is there a way to change the default <No Access> that appears in protected fields to something less jarring and more user-friendly, such as for example, nicely graying-out the field?

Thanks much!

Hi, Allen! I was about to suggest an IF statement based on user access level but realized you're using FM7 and therefore Instant Web Publishing which I know little about. What happens if you set your field text color to match the background (white?). Maybe there's a way you can use a different layout based on the user access level or hide/show a large object that might "push" your fields down if they do not have edit/new ability or something. Try to figure out a way in FMP and then see if it works for IWP?

Good luck!

Hi Steve - thanks much for the suggestions! I'll look into them. Really, the thing could just work as is, but alas the devil is in the details...

Cheers,

Allen
