If a FIND fails can it start another script?

Featured Replies

Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to bypass that dialog that nothing is found in a find and initiate another script upon a "no find" Is that in anyway possible? I would like to actually close a window if the find is not productive. Just wondering here.

Thanks

In a word - yes.

Enter Find Mode []

Set Error Capture [On]

Set Field [

Need more help here.

The script that Lee gave me has an element that doesn't work with filemaker7. He used If [

Get(LastError) will do it. It took me some time to find also (the first time) as I hunted for 'CurrentError' and 'Error'. LastError is really more logical. smile.gif

Oh! And Stann? If you click 'Update your Profile' (under your name) and update your FM and OS versions, it really helps us. The only time your version shows is in your original post. Those that respond later may not catch it because it doesn't appear under your name for any of your subsequent posts.

In this way, those responding can modify their response depending upon your profile. wink.gif
