May 22, 200421 yr Hello everyone.. I have a easy one... maybe Setup: Tables: "Main", Policies" On the Policies table I have a field called status -- Active or InActive I wish to make a Portal on the "Main" table that can list all of the actives -- by there last Name. Can anyone help...
May 22, 200421 yr Add a text field Active to Main, make it auto enter "Active" or make it a calculated field = "Active". For your portal make a relationship from Main ID in Main to Main ID in Policies and from Active in Main to Stauts in Policies. This will appear as one line in the TOG. If you already have a relationship from Main ID in Main to Main ID in Policies you will need another TO for Policies.
May 23, 200421 yr You could also make a global field with the text value "Active". Relations will work perfectly well on global fields as long as they're only on the side you need to look *from*. (I'd also consider making the "Active/Inactive" field into a number field with 1 or 0, which could still be displayed as text using the "Boolean" number display, and making your global field a number field with the value "1" in it, to match. Using a number flag would facilitate things like totaling the number of policies that are active within a given found set, etc.)

May 23, 200421 yr That is what I thought you wanted. I f it "All" Active change your relationship to just remove the Main ID to Main ID part of the relationship.
