sanne Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 I noticed Andy saying: "Noticed your post on FMForums" Sometimes I do the same thing, I post the same question on FMWorld-forum and here on FMForums. And sometimes, I also post the question on the Dutch-FileMaker Forum (Clarify.net) Is there a lot of difference to be expected in the answers? I mean, there are TWO English FileMaker Forums. Why? What's the difference?
Kurt Knippel Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 The difference is that FM Forums has 7x the membership and traffic. More questions being asked and answered.
sanne Posted May 30, 2004 Author Posted May 30, 2004 ================================================== So, then what would be the reason of existence for FMWorld? And: does bigger always means better? Because sometimes it lookes like postings on FMForum tend to "get lost": once they are out of focus (2 or 3 days without reply), they are dead end: they are stuck and nobody answers them anymore. ==================================================
-Queue- Posted May 30, 2004 Posted May 30, 2004 There are many other FileMaker forums, as well. FileMaker Cafe, Mark Jeffords' discussion list, BlueWorld, and lots of others that I don't visit frequently. There is also at least one old bbs that has a lot of archived information. I think the one nice feature that FileMakerWorld has that this forum doesn't is the ability to find all unanswered posts. Since that doesn't exist, it's easy to for a post to get lost without anyone realizing it hasn't been answered.
