Lists are great....

However how can I setup a custom list so that from a drop down selection the selection field is shown in the list.

I was considering:

1. Global field which has the selection you want

2. An extra calculation field in the list that says

if(global field= X,display x, else.....

But isnt this quite a slow process particularly on long listings

Any other solutions?:

NO I meant a list layout

Is the value list made of field names? You could use GetField if it is.
