Exporting records from web database

I've created a web database that is accessed by about 6 users, using instant web publishing. After doing a search and retrieving x number of records, we'd like to be able to export those records to a text file for use in other applications. Is this possible from a web browser?

If you format the data how you want it you will be able to do a "Save as..." from the browser.

I need merged fields to get the proper formatting, but merged fields don't show up online. Is there a way of getting merged fields to show up on web databases?

I'd like to be able to save a whole bunch of records. "Save as..." works somewhat with form view, but not with table view.

You could look at using Custom Web Publishing (CWP), or XML and XSLT, if you are using a version of FM less than 7.
