JaseFace Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 Dear All, I've designed a customer database which is to be used for checking customers details. I'd like to use the 'Dial Phone' script step to integrate the Database with an IP telephony system (looking at Nortel/Norstar, or maybe Toshiba) to turn the phones into "HOT" phones. I was wondering whether anyone has experience in building such a system? It looks like it would be straight forward as FMP uses TAPI, but we're all a bit more grown up than to think it's quite that easy.... regards J
jasonwood Posted July 30, 2004 Posted July 30, 2004 Have a look at http://www.fptelephony.com/ Note that the Mac version of FileMaker does NOT support TAPI (since TAPI itself is a Microsoft API), and you have to ensure your phone system will support TAPI. Personally, I'm waiting for a good VOIP telephone system that supports XML before I'll replace my telephones, that way platform never matters and I'll no need for another plugin.
