You could also do it with the ol' portal visibility trick, also developed by John Mark Osborne. Search the site that Lee offers for visibility and you should find a way to do this.

You can keep the field visible but have it "lock" by placing a clear button on top of your field and attach a script to the button that basically says

If (checkbox = "yes")

gotoField (FieldName)

Else

Haltscript

End If
