nerdgirl Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Another server question... I want to back up my databases to a folder on a shared network drive. When I set up the schedule, it looks fine. I am able to direct the path. When I run the back up, however, I get an event error saying my folder cannot be found. How can I fix this? Could it be something in our network preventing the schedule to write there? I can write to the shared folder normally, but it seems that FileMaker cannot back up to it. Any ideas? Thanks, ng
laker_42 Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 Do you have the shared drive mapped on the server? I am not sure if FM Server will work with UNC mappings. I believe it has to be assigned a drive letter inorder for FM Server to see it. When you set the backup location in the job setup, can you browse to the shared location that you want to back it up to? HTH John
Leb i Sol Posted July 21, 2004 Posted July 21, 2004 location has to be a mapped drive eg. Z:FM vs. path ServerBackupsFM
nerdgirl Posted August 9, 2004 Author Posted August 9, 2004 Sorry, I've been away for a while. I do have a lettered drive. When I set up the back up, I am able to find the drive and map the back up to it. When I run the back up, however, I get an error that the folder on that drive cannot be found. Any suggestions? -ng
