I currently have a portal that is sorted by last modified/creation date/time which is fine for most cases as the most accessed files get high ranking etc.

But I want to set it up so that the order stays the same unless the user specifics one to go to top?

What is the simplest way to sort a portal

Thanks

Okay all the example in the forum are quite basic.

Maybe I should explain in more detail what I am trying to achieve.

I have contacts showing with in companies (many to many relationship)

I want each company to have a set order in which the person is displayed. He could be displayed as number 1 in company 1 or number 2 in company 2 etc but the order needs to be user configurable. So that you can just click on a name and he goes to the top.

The problem I face is how do I set up multiple places in companies - do I need a separate table of contactid, companyid and ranking?

I can't find anything on this in the database....sorry if I was too vague

THanks
